A lovely family based in Kentish Town are seeking an experienced part time nanny / housekeeper to care for their two children, aged 7 and 5 years old, while helping to maintain their five-bedroom home. This is a varied role suited to a warm, reliable and proactive candidate who enjoys combining childcare with household support.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience caring for school-aged children, be confident managing after-school routines and happy to assist with general housekeeping. The family have a friendly dog, so the successful candidate should be comfortable around dogs. Previous private household experience and excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- providing attentive and nurturing care for the children
- collecting the children from school when required
- supporting the children’s after-school routines
- preparing healthy snacks and simple meals
- assisting with homework and reading
- planning fun and age-appropriate activities
- organising creative and outdoor play
- supporting bath time and evening routines
- undertaking general housekeeping duties throughout the home
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- keeping the children’s bedrooms and play areas tidy and organised
- maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- organising school bags, uniforms and children’s belongings
- running occasional household errands when required
- being comfortable working around the family’s large but friendly dog
- ensuring the home remains clean, organised and running smoothly at all times
