A lovely elderly couple based in Ringwood are seeking an experienced housekeeper / carer / cook to provide practical household support, companionship and home-cooked meals while helping them maintain their independence. This is a rewarding opportunity for a kind, organised and reliable candidate who enjoys caring for others and takes pride in running a well-managed household. The role is available on either a live in or live out basis.
The lady has Parkinson’s disease and the gentleman has previously undergone heart bypass surgery, so the family are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient and experienced in supporting older clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, discreet and able to work independently while ensuring the couple remain comfortable, safe and well cared for. Previous experience in a similar role and excellent references are essential.
Duties would include:
- maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the home
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing all household surfaces
- laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- making beds and changing bed linen
- preparing fresh, nutritious meals each day
- planning menus and shopping for groceries and household supplies
- keeping the kitchen clean and well organised
- running household errands when required
- providing companionship and emotional support to the couple
- assisting with mobility and offering practical support where needed
- supporting medication reminders where appropriate
- accompanying the couple to appointments or outings when required
- liaising with healthcare professionals and family members if necessary
- ensuring the home remains safe, comfortable and running smoothly at all times
