A lovely household based in Notting Hill are looking for an experienced full time housekeeper / cook to take responsibility for the smooth running and upkeep of their home. This is a varied position for someone who enjoys maintaining high standards of housekeeping while also preparing fresh, home-cooked meals for the household.
The ideal candidate will have previous private household experience and be confident managing housekeeping and cooking duties independently. They should be organised, discreet, reliable and have excellent attention to detail, with a good understanding of preparing healthy and well-presented meals. The household is pet friendly, so the successful candidate should be comfortable around pets. The role can be offered on either a live in or live out basis, depending on the candidate. Excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- maintaining the home to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
- thorough cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- cleaning and maintaining the kitchen
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- changing towels as required
- wardrobe and clothing care
- organising cupboards and household storage areas
- keeping the home tidy and well organised
- preparing fresh, healthy and home-cooked meals
- planning menus according to the household’s preferences
- preparing meals in advance when required
- grocery shopping and purchasing fresh ingredients
- monitoring household food and cleaning supplies
- cleaning kitchen appliances and work surfaces
- washing up and tidying the kitchen after meal preparation
- receiving and organising household deliveries
- running occasional household errands
- being comfortable working around pets
- maintaining a calm, clean and comfortable home environment
- assisting with general household organisation
- using initiative to manage daily household tasks
- ensuring the home is consistently well presented and running smoothly
