A lovely family based in Wandsworth are seeking an experienced part time nanny / housekeeper to support with the care of their two children, aged 5 and 10, while also helping to keep the family home clean, tidy and organised. This is a varied role suited to a warm, reliable and proactive candidate who enjoys combining childcare with practical household support.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience caring for school-aged children and be confident managing their daily routines, school-related activities and after-school commitments. They should also have good housekeeping skills and be happy to take responsibility for the general upkeep of the home. A driver would be ideal for the role, particularly for school runs and taking the children to activities. The successful candidate should be organised, trustworthy and able to use their own initiative. Excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- providing attentive and reliable care for both children
- managing the children’s daily routines
- taking the children to and from school when required
- assisting with school runs and daily activities
- preparing healthy breakfasts, snacks and meals
- supporting the children with homework and schoolwork
- organising age-appropriate activities and outings
- taking the children to clubs and activities when required
- supporting the children’s hobbies and interests
- helping with morning and afternoon routines
- keeping the children’s bedrooms and personal areas tidy
- organising school bags, uniforms and belongings
- carrying out general housekeeping throughout the home
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- keeping wardrobes and children’s clothing organised
- maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen
- loading and unloading the dishwasher
- grocery shopping and purchasing household supplies
- running occasional household errands
- keeping the home organised and well presented
- helping with general household tasks as required
- using initiative to ensure the household runs smoothly
- ensuring the children are happy, safe and well cared for at all times
