A welcoming household based in Golders Green are seeking an experienced full time housekeeper / carer to provide support with the day-to-day upkeep of their home and assist with the care of a member of the household. This is a varied position suited to a warm, reliable and responsible candidate who is confident combining high-quality housekeeping with caring responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have previous private household and caring experience and be comfortable working independently. They should be discreet, compassionate and well organised, with a good eye for detail and a proactive approach to their work. The position can be offered on either a live in or live out basis. Excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the home
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- changing towels and maintaining bathrooms
- wardrobe and clothing care
- organising cupboards and household storage areas
- keeping the home tidy, clean and well presented
- maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- preparing simple, nutritious meals and refreshments
- assisting with grocery shopping and household supplies
- monitoring household provisions and replenishing essentials
- receiving deliveries when required
- providing companionship and friendly support
- assisting with day-to-day routines and practical tasks
- supporting mobility and general wellbeing where appropriate
- assisting with light personal care if required
- accompanying the individual to appointments or outings when needed
- running occasional household and care-related errands
- maintaining a calm, comfortable and safe home environment
- working respectfully with the family and any other household staff
- using initiative to ensure the household runs smoothly each day
