A lovely family based in Kensington are seeking an experienced part time nanny / housekeeper / cook to care for their two children, aged 8 and 10 years old, while helping with the general upkeep of their home and family meals. This is a varied role suited to a warm, reliable and proactive candidate who enjoys combining childcare with household responsibilities and cooking.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience caring for school-aged children and be confident managing their daily and after-school routines. They should also be organised and practical, with good housekeeping skills and the ability to prepare fresh, healthy meals. Previous private household experience and excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- providing attentive and reliable care for the children
- supporting the children’s daily and after-school routines
- school pick-ups and drop-offs when required
- preparing healthy snacks and meals for the children
- preparing fresh home-cooked meals for the family
- planning simple menus according to the family’s preferences
- assisting with homework, reading and school projects
- planning fun and age-appropriate activities
- organising creative, educational and outdoor activities
- taking the children to clubs, activities and appointments when required
- supporting evening routines
- keeping the children’s bedrooms and play areas tidy and organised
- organising school bags, uniforms and children’s belongings
- undertaking general housekeeping duties throughout the home
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- wardrobe and clothing care
- maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- grocery shopping and purchasing fresh ingredients
- monitoring household food and cleaning supplies
- washing up and tidying after meal preparation
- running occasional household errands
- ensuring the home remains clean, organised and running smoothly at all times
