A lovely family based in Hartfield, East Sussex, are seeking an experienced part time housekeeper / cook to support the upkeep of their four-bedroom home and prepare meals for the family. Three bedrooms are in regular use. This is a varied role suited to a reliable, organised and proactive candidate who takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-presented home.
The family have three children and a friendly Labrador, so the successful candidate should be comfortable working in a busy family and pet-friendly household. The ideal candidate will have previous private household experience, strong housekeeping skills and enjoy preparing fresh, home-cooked meals. Excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the home
- cleaning the three regularly used bedrooms
- cleaning the additional bedroom when required
- cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- wardrobe and clothing care
- keeping children’s areas tidy and organised
- maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- preparing fresh, healthy home-cooked meals
- preparing meals and snacks for the children when required
- planning simple menus according to the family’s preferences
- shopping for groceries and fresh ingredients when required
- monitoring household supplies and replenishing essentials
- cleaning kitchen appliances and maintaining the kitchen to a high standard
- running occasional household errands
- being comfortable working around the family’s Labrador
- keeping the home tidy, organised and well presented
- ensuring the household runs smoothly and efficiently at all times
