A private household based in Barnham, West Sussex, is seeking an experienced and reliable household team to take responsibility for the care and upkeep of the home and surrounding property. The role is ideally suited to two experienced professionals who can work well together, with one person taking primary responsibility for housekeeping and the other focusing on handyman, gardening and general property maintenance.
One member of the team must be a confident driver, and strong housekeeping experience is essential for the housekeeping position. The second role requires someone practical and hands-on, with good gardening and general maintenance skills. Both individuals should be trustworthy, proactive and comfortable working independently while coordinating with one another.
Duties include:
- maintaining the home to a high standard
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- wardrobe and clothing care
- organising cupboards and household storage areas
- maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- monitoring household supplies and replenishing essentials when required
- receiving deliveries and assisting with household organisation
- ensuring the home is always clean, tidy and beautifully presented
- maintaining gardens and outdoor areas to a high standard
- general gardening and grounds maintenance
- lawn care, weeding, planting and seasonal garden work
- keeping paths, terraces and outdoor spaces tidy
- car cleaning and general vehicle care
- carrying out minor repairs and practical maintenance around the property
- checking and maintaining household fixtures and equipment
- assisting tradespeople and contractors when required
- monitoring the condition of the property and reporting any larger maintenance issues
- driving for household and property-related errands when required
- moving, assembling and arranging household items when necessary
- assisting with general property upkeep
- working closely with the housekeeper to ensure the smooth running of the household
