A lovely household in Barnet is seeking an experienced full time housekeeper / carer / cook to provide practical and caring support to a couple in their home. This is a varied position combining high-standard housekeeping, companionship and meal preparation, with the successful candidate becoming a trusted and reliable part of the household.
The ideal candidate will be warm, patient and attentive, with previous experience supporting adults or elderly clients in a private household. They should also be confident with general housekeeping and enjoy preparing fresh, nutritious meals. A confident driver is essential for this role, particularly for errands, appointments and other household requirements. Previous private household experience and excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- providing kind and respectful care and companionship
- supporting the clients with their daily routines when required
- assisting with light personal support as appropriate
- accompanying the clients to appointments and outings when needed
- driving for appointments, shopping and household errands
- preparing fresh, healthy and nutritious meals
- planning meals according to the clients’ preferences and dietary requirements
- grocery shopping and managing household food supplies
- maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the home
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
- laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- making beds and changing bed linen
- keeping the home tidy, organised and comfortable
- maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- monitoring household supplies and replenishing essentials
- running household errands when required
- liaising with family members or other professionals when appropriate
- providing a reassuring presence and ensuring the clients’ wellbeing and comfort
- ensuring the home remains clean, welcoming and running smoothly at all times
