Position: Live in Housekeeper Couple

A busy family based in the countryside in Chiddingfold are seeking an experienced and capable live in housekeeper couple to manage both their family home and surrounding estate. The family have four children aged 11, 14, 16 and 17 years old and a working rural property with livestock and grounds to maintain. One member of the couple must be a confident driver. Previous experience in a similar estate or country house role is ideal.
This is a varied and hands on role suited to a practical, organised and proactive couple who enjoy rural living and are confident managing both household and outdoor responsibilities.
Duties include:
- running the estate on a day to day basis
- managing a small herd of livestock including pigs, cattle and chickens
- maintaining fences, fields and boundaries
- upkeep of gardens, trees and the walled vegetable garden
- machinery maintenance including mowers and vehicles
- general repairs and ensuring the grounds are well maintained
- full housekeeping and upkeep of the family home
- laundry and ironing
- preparing some family meals
- driving the children to and from school, sports activities and train stations
- supporting the smooth running and organisation of the household
