A lovely family based in Hackney are seeking an experienced and caring part time nanny / housekeeper to support the care of their two children, aged 11 months and 5 years old, while helping to maintain a clean, organised and welcoming home. This is a fantastic opportunity for a warm, proactive and reliable candidate who enjoys balancing childcare with housekeeping responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience caring for babies and young children, be organised and able to use their initiative, ensuring the children are well cared for while keeping the household running smoothly. The family also have a friendly cat, so applicants must be pet friendly and comfortable working in a home with pets. Previous experience in a similar role and excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- providing attentive and nurturing care for both children
- supporting the baby’s feeding, nap and developmental routines
- planning engaging and age-appropriate activities
- supporting nursery or school routines for the older child
- preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
- general housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness throughout the home
- laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- making beds and changing bed linen
- keeping the children’s bedrooms, nursery and play areas tidy and organised
- cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas
- running household errands when required
- assisting with light meal preparation for the family
- helping care for the family cat when needed
- ensuring the home remains organised, welcoming and running smoothly each day
