A lovely household based in Wandsworth are seeking an experienced part time cook to provide regular Sunday meal preparation and cooking. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, organised and talented cook who enjoys preparing fresh, home-cooked meals and can work independently within a private household.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a private household cook and be confident preparing a variety of nutritious and well-presented meals. They should be able to follow the household’s preferences, manage ingredients and keep the kitchen clean and organised throughout the cooking session. Excellent references are essential.
Duties would include:
- preparing fresh and nutritious meals for the household
- planning weekly menus according to the family’s preferences
- preparing a variety of home-cooked dishes
- catering to dietary requirements and food preferences when required
- preparing meals in advance for the week where appropriate
- organising ingredients and preparing shopping lists
- shopping for groceries and fresh ingredients when required
- ensuring ingredients are stored correctly
- maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- cleaning work surfaces, appliances and cooking equipment after use
- keeping the kitchen tidy and organised
- monitoring food supplies and advising when items need replenishing
- ensuring meals are well presented and ready at the agreed times
