A family in Ashington, West Sussex, are looking for a caring and dependable nanny housekeeper / cook to help with their three children, aged 4 and 8 years old and a newborn, as well as the day-to-day running of their home. The role would suit someone who enjoys childcare but is equally happy taking responsibility for household duties and preparing meals for the family.
The successful candidate will be confident caring for school-aged children and a newborn, with a gentle and patient approach to each child’s individual needs. They should be organised, proactive and comfortable managing the morning and evening routines, alongside housekeeping, laundry and cooking. The family are happy to consider either a live-in or live-out candidate.
Duties include:
- helping the older children prepare for school in the morning
- supporting school drop-offs and collections when required
- caring for the newborn and attending to feeding, changing and settling
- following the baby’s daily routine and supporting good sleep habits
- helping with the children’s morning and evening routines
- preparing breakfasts, snacks and nutritious family meals
- planning meals and keeping track of household food supplies
- assisting with homework, reading and educational activities
- arranging suitable indoor and outdoor activities for the children
- keeping the children’s bedrooms and play areas clean and tidy
- carrying out general housekeeping throughout the home
- cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping, dusting and maintaining household surfaces
- managing laundry, ironing and changing bed linen
- keeping children’s clothes, school uniforms and belongings organised
- cleaning the kitchen and tidying after meals
- washing up and ensuring the home is left neat and organised
- helping with general household organisation and daily tasks
- providing additional support for a few hours on Sunday afternoons
