A friendly family in Clapham are looking for a reliable and experienced part time nanny / housekeeper / cook to support with the care of their 4-year-old child and help keep the household running smoothly. The role offers a good balance of childcare, cooking and housekeeping and would suit someone warm, organised and proactive.
The successful candidate will be confident caring for a young child and able to manage the afternoon and evening routine independently. They should also be comfortable preparing family meals and carrying out general housekeeping to a good standard. Additional evening babysitting will be required every second Friday. Previous private household experience and excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- collecting the child from school or nursery when required
- providing attentive and engaging after-school care
- organising age-appropriate games, activities and outings
- taking the child to local activities and classes
- preparing snacks and meals for the child
- preparing healthy family dinners
- supporting mealtimes and encouraging good eating habits
- assisting with homework and reading
- supporting bath and bedtime routines
- keeping the child’s bedroom and play areas tidy
- organising the child’s clothes, school items and belongings
- carrying out daily housekeeping duties
- cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- vacuuming, mopping and dusting throughout the home
- laundry and ironing
- making beds and changing bed linen
- maintaining the kitchen and household areas to a high standard
- grocery shopping and replenishing household supplies
- washing up and tidying after meals
- running occasional household errands
- providing additional babysitting every second Friday from 7:00pm–10:00pm
- ensuring the home is tidy, organised and well presented
