A lovely family based in Orpington are seeking an experienced and caring part time nanny / housekeeper to support the care of their three children, aged 5, 8 and 11 years old, while helping to maintain their family home. This is a wonderful opportunity for a warm, organised and proactive candidate who enjoys balancing childcare with housekeeping responsibilities in a busy household.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, energetic and able to use their initiative, ensuring the children are well cared for while keeping the home clean and organised. The property consists of four bedrooms plus an office. Although the family do not currently have pets, they are planning to welcome a dog in the future, so applicants should be comfortable working in a pet-friendly household. Previous experience in a similar role and excellent references are essential.
Duties include:
- providing attentive care and supervision for the children after school
- school pick-ups and supporting the afternoon routine
- preparing healthy snacks and simple evening meals for the children
- assisting with homework and encouraging independent learning
- planning fun and age-appropriate activities
- general housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness throughout the home
- laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- making beds and changing bed linen
- keeping the children’s bedrooms, play areas and communal spaces tidy and organised
- cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas
- helping with grocery shopping and household errands when required
- assisting with light meal preparation for the family
- helping ensure the home remains organised, welcoming and running smoothly each day
